Bariatrics

Q: Do I need a GP referral?
A: For an initial free chat with the Consultant to see if you are a suitable candidate you do not need a GP referral. However, If after you have met with the Consultant and you wish to proceed further with the procedure a GP referral letter is essential.
Q: Am I eligible for weight loss surgery?
A: This depends on your BMI (Body Mass Index). This is calculated by measuring your height and weight. The recommended BMI is over 35. The consultant will work out your BMI and recommend what type of surgery will be suitable for you.
Q: What is the cost and how much aftercare is included in the price?
A: To make life easier we agree the total price of the treatment. The price includes the following: - surgery, follow up appointments, support from your clinical team. We guarantee the price will not change even if you have to stay in hospital longer than expected.
Q: How long will I have to stay in hospital?
A: Expect to stay overnight for a Gastric Band, for other types of Bariatric surgery this may vary.
Q: Do you have any payment plans to help with the cost?
A: We have two payment plan options, one of them is interest free over a period of 10 months, this option requires a minimum deposit of 10%, however you can make a larger deposit that will reduce your monthly payments. There is also an interest bearing option, no deposit is required and you can arrange for a loan period of 2 or 3 years.
Q: Is there any support before and after surgery?
A: There is excellent support from our clinical team and the Consultant. There is also a patient support group that welcomes potential patients and past patients, it provides information and support for all patients at all stages of their surgery.
